Customer FAQ

1. What is JobsToDo?
JobsToDo is a website that brings consumers and service providers together. Customers can post jobs or projects they need done, and receive quotes from service providers.

2. How much does it cost?
Nothing. JobsToDo is 100% free for customers to use.

3. Why use JobsToDo?
Reach thousands of providers: Save time and hassle by completing one simple job posting form and we will notify relevent providers about your job. JobsToDo has over 14 000 service providers waiting to quote on your job.

Get a better deal: Because JobsToDo is an open marketplace, it encourages competition amongst service providers and therefore results in a better deal for you.

Privacy: You can review quotes you’ve received, and discuss the project in more details with providers through a Private Message Board. And you choose when you’re comfortable to share your direct contact details with your selected provider(s).

4. Are the service providers reputable?
The quality and reputation of service providers is monitored by JobsToDo from feedback we receive. However, we strongly recommend that you check licenses, qualifications, insurances and references before commissioning a provider to complete your project.

5. Why aren’t providers given a rating or score?
We believe that rating/scoring systems do not provide the consumer with reliable information upon which to base their decision. Feedback is collected from customers at the completion of their project and stored by JobsToDo. If a provider receives negative feedback JobsToDo will review their ability to post quotes.

6. How do I ask a service provider a question?
You can use the Private Message Board to speak privately with providers without disclosing your contact details. Click ‘Message board’ on your job screen to send a provider a message.

7. Do I have to award my project to a provider?
No, you do not have to award your project. You can choose to extend the bidding period, or relist your project when the bidding period expires if you have not received a suitable quote.

8. Can I award my project to more than one provider?
Yes, you can. Every time you award a project contact details will be exchanged between you and the selected providers.

9. Will my contact details remain confidential?
Yes. Only providers you choose to award a job to will be given your details.

10. What if I have a dispute that needs to be resolved?
JobsToDo aims to provide an online space that brings customers and service providers together. We are not involved in the actual transactions between users, nor are we affiliated with any of the service providers. Any dispute which arises between a customer and a service provider is to be resolved independently between the two parties.


Service Provider FAQ

1. How much does it cost?
JobsToDo is a pay-per-bid system. New providers are given free credits to get started.
Launch Special: It is currently FREE to quote on and win jobs.

2. How do I quote on a job?
a) I have an account: Sign in, click on ‘Browse jobs’ and search within your chosen category/location. Once you have found a job you wish to quote on click ‘Quote now’ and submit your quote.

b) I don’t have an account:
Click on ‘Browse jobs’ and search within your chosen category/location. Once you have found a job you wish to quote on, click ‘Quote now’, complete your quote details, name and email address. You will then be asked to verify your email address before your quote is sent to the customer. Once verified, we will send you your password to log into your account.

c) I have received a job notification email:
Click on the link contained in the email notification, and fill in the details of your quote.

3. How do I edit a quote?
You cannot change a quote once it is submitted however you can add comments. Simply click on ‘edit quote’ in your quote tracking screen. Alternatively, you can message the customer directly using the Private Message Board.

4. How do I cancel a quote?
While you are unable to cancel a quote, you are able to add a comment with the ‘edit quote’ feature, or message the customer directly using the Private Message Board.

5. How do I edit my Provider Profile?
Sign in and click on “Settings”. From here you are able to edit your details and password. You are also able to sign up to or edit the categories and locations you service.

6. How do job alerts work?
Job alerts are sent to providers when a customer posts a relevant job. If you have the category listed in your settings, and the customer is within your service area, you will receive an email with the job details and a link to the website to place your quote.
If you wish to stop receiving job alerts, simply remove all categories from your settings. While this will stop you from receiving email alerts, you will still be able to find jobs to quote on by Browsing Jobs.

7. How do I request more information from a customer?
You can request more information from a customer by using the Private Message Board feature. You will have to place a quote estimation on the job first to access this message board.

8. How do I increase my chances of winning jobs?
In order to increase your chances of winning jobs you should fill out your provider profile with as much detail as possible. It will also help if you are able to provide the customer with an accurate quote or let the customer know what additional information you require to quote accurately.
